More Collections..........

So I said I would post some more collections, some of the things I've collected over the years.   For those of you who know me, I'm sort of cheap and I never pay a lot for any of this stuff. .   To me, it's much more interesting to put items together over time to decorate your home than going to a furniture store and just buying matchey matchey items.  That's soooo boring to me.  So here's some more:

Floral bouquet paintings that sort of have that cottage/shabby chic look.
These hang on one wall in our bedroom.

A small collection of manni's. Some of my handmade necklaces
hang on them.

Black and white photos, most all of them relatives from the past.  My mom does matting and framing. She will blow some of our family photos up, do the matting and framing and give a couple to each of her girls each year for Christmas.  These gifts are very cherished.

My globe collection.  Most all of them from the local thrifts.  None of them no more than $5 each.

Turquoise green, blue and other tones of green vintage pottery. I'm attracted to anything green and blue.

So these are some of my collections. I hope you enjoyed looking and maybe got some ideas.  Check back next week and I'll show you some more.

Collections

This will be my first post of several about collections.  Is there anything that you collect?  I started to think about the collections that I have and realized that I've collected A LOT of stuff!   But the "stuff" I've collected isn't just any ol' junk.  At least not to me.   It's mostly things I thought would look cool in my house in groupings.  When you group like items together it makes much more of a punch than just some random item sitting there all alone.  I'm gonna let everyone see some of my collections this coming week.  Promise, I'm gonna get back on this blog and start puttin out some cool stuff.

This past week I found the most adorable 6 piece set of vintage stitched floral pictures.  At first, I thought I should keep them because I have 2 different walls in my house where they would go along with the collections of floral/botanical pictures.  But, on second thought, I decided to offer them in my shop so that someone else could start their own collection.

They sort of have a shabby chicish vibe goin' on.  They could look fuddy duddy, like something from grandma's house, but I see them going with a mix of newer modern looking botanical or floral prints to balance them out.  Everyone will be asking "where did you get  those"?  You say sassysistervintage.etsy.com, of course ;). The six pictures are being offered at $30 in my shop.

Stay tuned for lots of pics of my own collections.  I think you'll enjoy looking at them.

It's been hard getting over to my blog lately.....

I honestly have had a lack of motivation to do much of anything lately.  It seems like this time of year always makes me feel blah.  I think I always get a bit of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder).  I think that's what it's called.    I've got ideas and things I want to talk about, I've just got to put myself into movement.  Anyway, I'm hoping to get over this blah period and get some motivation back.   Here's my latest vintage pieces for sale:

Unique Industrial Lighting

I found these very cool metal crab baskets the other day.  When I first picked them up, my thought was that they would make cool lighting for a kitchen, etc.  I searched the internet today to see if there were any pictures of the baskets made into lighting and I found something that was very similar to what I was thinking.

These baskets are for sale in my etsy shop at sassysistervintage.etsy.com.  They are $34 each.

This kitchen is unique and very cool.  The metal basket lighting in the back corner definitely adds to the character of this kitchen.  Something similar can be done to the same baskets that I have for sale.

Newest Items For Sale and other Stuff......

So, um......I've been gone a while.  I hope everyone's holidays were fabulous!  I was in Wyoming along with my husband Duane and 2 girls.  We drove out there in our "not the image I want" Dodge Grand Caravan.  I must admit that the van sure did make traveling a lot more comfortable.  The only thing that wasn't comfortable was traveling with a 15 month old........never again on a trip that long!  Love her to death, but man was that a challenge.  We were gone a bit more than 2 weeks and I'm super happy to be home and on a bit more of a normal schedule.  I've got lots of pictures from the trip.  I'll share those later.  Meanwhile, here's some of my newest items for sale in sassysistervintage.etsy.com:

Vintage Leather Swiss Army Pouch

Adorable 1960's, 70's Mini Dress

Amazing glass beaded turn-of-the-century bag.....mint condition!

Vintage Cable Knitted Yellow Sweater

Authentic Snake Skin Belt

Like I said earlier, I've got lots of things to talk about, so check back soon.  I'll show you pics from the trip and blog about a fabulous vintage clothing store in Salt Lake City....Decades Vintage.
