Fun and Fashion at Dothan Botanical Gardens

I haven't been to my blog in a long time.  I decided to check it out and especially looked at my photos from more than a year ago.   All I can say is "baby, you've come a long way"!  I really didn't know how to work my camera before 2015.  I knew how to press the shutter button and "boom!" I took a picture.  I knew nothing about camera settings or the triangle; this allows you to get correct exposure.  Here's some images I took from one of my more recent photo shoots with Piper.  We visited Dothan Botanical Gardens.   Most all of these vintage clothing items are in my shop at www.sassysistervintage.etsy.com.

Hope you enjoyed looking!  Shop the clothing at www.sassysistervintage.etsy.com

The Witch Hunt

I did a photo shoot yesterday with my models Piper Williams and Azurea Crean.  I wanted to create a dark and kind of eery feel with black dresses and dead weeds.  I noticed across the street and down the road a bit there were, in fact, some interesting dead weeds.  And of course, I already had the black dresses.  Azurea commented that they looked like witches.  I insisted that they were the kindest and most beautiful kind of witches (because they are).  Love these girls!  Take a look at the witch hunt and then some sweet girl photography.

They are off on their hunt!

They got a little lost and were a bit confused in the maze of dead weeds.

Finally, among the weeds they decided what they would sacrifice!

They are giving it a bit more consideration......

But then, Azurea saw something moving in the trees and she got scared!

So they decided to return home and change into their "sweet girl" clothes.  Piper chose a 1950s Organza Skirt with a gorgeous beaded 1960s top.

Azurea decided on a remake of a Gone with the Wind Antebellum Dress

Piper decided to change into a 1940s Pale Pink Chiffon Dress and a 1940s lace hat.  She was in very deep thought.  How would she let him down easily?

Finally, she had an idea.......  she knew how much Azurea liked him.

Azurea was so excited, she now had the man of her dreams and changed into her 1960s Salmon Pink Nightgown.   (it will be in the shop soon!)

Just in Case you Missed it: Out Most Recent Shoot

If you happen to be a Facebook friend of mine you've probably already seen our most recent photo shoot. Most of these awesome vintage pieces are in the shop too.  I've included a link to each item just in case you want a closer look.  I'm behind the camera taking the pics and Piper is doing the modeling.  She's awesome isn't she?  All pics taken right here in my new home that has turned out to be a great place to photograph!  If you have any questions regarding the mostly 70s pieces with some 40s and 50s mixed in, please don't hesitate to ask.  Reach me in my Etsy shop at www.sassysistervintage.etsy.com.

A New Home and A New Photo Shoot

Finally, Piper and me were able to get together again.  My family and I have been in the process of moving into a new home.  I forgot how stressful and time consuming this was but I sure am happy to be here!  I'm loving the spots that Piper and me chose for the photography and I'm able to get out props that have been packed for a while.  It will only get better from here as I continue to decorate this new place and hunt for new (new to me anyway) items for the home.  Stay tuned!

1950s/60s Full Skirt Dance Dress
(to be listed soon)

1970s Hippie Cape and Pants
(to be listed soon)

The minds of both Piper and me are able to get together and create some stunning photography.  I've had a number of people ask who does the photography?  I'm photographing with both Piper and me styling.  And of course she's modeling.  So glad I've met a talented girl who see's the world through the same vintage eyes I do!
