Some of My Newest Items for Sale and other Stuff........

I haven't been able to get nearly as many items listed in my shop as I wanted to this week.  Life sort of gets in the way.......specifically, the life of my children and husband.  I realize they take priority, and there's a time and a place for everything.  Whenever one of my kids or Duane is annoying me because I'm trying to work and their getting in the way, I have to remind myself that if they're annoying me, maybe I'm trying to do a little too much.  I sort of have to keep things in perspective and remember what "life" is all about.

Anyway, here are many of the things I listed this week......some of them sold super fast!

My Visit to Decades Vintage in Salt Lake City

I've been intending to blog about this most awesome shop for quite some time.  When my husband (Duane), kids and me were visiting Duane's family in Wyoming, I took a trip down to Salt Lake (about 2 hours away).  Decades Vintage on State St. in Salt Lake City is a definite must for those who love vintage apparel.  And I'm talking everything from the most awesome dresses ever to literally a whole vintage shoe department.  They had one of the best collections I've seen in a long time AND what was most impressive were their prices......very reasonable!  Their displays and merchandising made the store interesting, as well as the unique people visiting the place.  Just my thing!

The storefront near downtown on State St. in SLC

Circa 1920s dresses hanging up and cool bags/purses.

I've never seen so many tooled leather vintage bags in my life.

Lots of cool western boots and clothing from the 30s and 40s.

Amazing vintage jewelry section.

 Cute vintage dress.

The little black vintage dress collection.

Shoes, shoes and more shoes.

...and even more boots.

the Men's Department

Just thought I'd throw in a pic of where Duane's family lives.
Literally, it's out in the middle of no where in Wyoming.  His brothers house is off in the distance.
Don't you wish you could move there :)

If your ever in Salt Lake, Decades is definitely worth a trip.  Hope y'all enjoyed looking at the pics.

More Amazing Collections ***My Parent's House***

I was at my parent's house this past weekend.  They have an amazing place, everything from the 40 acres they live on outside Tallahassee, FL to the gorgeous house my dad built.  It's always a treat to visit their house.

My parent's had an antiques store for about 10 years which they closed some time back.  They have acquired some gorgeous pieces of furniture, and also some really cool collections.  Here are some of them that I took pics of when I visited:

Vintage bird cages.......

...and more vintage bird cages

Large chunks of semi precious stones and rocks.  Everything from amethyst to turquoise.

Have you ever seen a broom collection?  This one is in their mudroom.

My mom has always loved kaleidoscopes and that's what sits on top of this
very cool antique card catalog file.

A vintage clock collection that sits in one of the spare bedrooms.

Antique door knob collection.  My husband Duane made the wooden display.

My favorite: A vintage dice collection.  This one sits in one of their bathrooms (of all places haha).

This little lamp isn't part of a collection but I just had to share it.
Possibly the cutest vintage lamp I have ever seen in my life!  My mom bought it at an auction a while back.

So that completes some more on "Collections" for now.  Hope you enjoyed looking at all of them.  I'll try to get back on my blog as soon as I can.
